Technical Program Manager, Recruiting Engine

Key job responsibilities
As a Technical Program Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
• You are responsible for managing the lifecycle of a cross-functional program
• You ensure business and technical stakeholder needs are aligned, you drive mindful discussions that lead to crisp decisions
• You routinely deliver the right things with limited guidance
• You oversee the gap between teams, processes, and system architectures, and you help teams/your organization reduce exposure to classic failure modes
• You provide constructive feedback for engineers, managers, and other peers

A day in the life
As a Technical Program Manager, you will define the program (mission, vision, tenets), set objectives, analyze data, drive improvements that are quantified with metrics, and influence resource allocation. You’ll work closely with business teams, leaders, and dedicated user experience design and engineering teams in an agile development environment to build and launch to customers. You’ll track status, mitigate risk and report to your stakeholders, partners and team members on a regular basis. You’ll dive deep into systems to understand limitations, scaling factors, and architectural decisions. There will be a some ambiguity to work through, and you will need strong judgement and leadership skills.

About the team
We are Recruiting Engine, a cross-functional org of research and applied scientists, data engineers, program managers, product managers, UX designers, software developers, and recruiting teams. We believe there is a right way to recruit, and have brought these disciplines together to ideate, build, and learn together. We prefer this role to be based in Vancouver or Toronto due to proximity with team members.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Vancouver, BC, CAN

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– 7+ years of technical product or program management experience
– 7+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
– Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
– Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent
– Good working knowledge of current web technologies

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
– Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
– Experience defining KPI’s/SLA’s used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
