Bus Driver Jobs In Vancouver

Learning Disabilities Society

Mobile Classroom / Bus Driver

About us: LDS (Learning Disabilities Society) is a growing, innovative, research-based, nonprofit charity serving children, youth and adults with diagnosed or suspected learning differences like ADHD and dyslexia.

In collaboration with academic institutions, LDS offers individualized, evidence-based programs that target student-specific learning needs. Our growing programs and services operate online, from our Learning Centres in East Vancouver and North Vancouver, in-school locations, and our mobile classroom.

We provide affordable programs to ensure that all children have an opportunity to realize their full potential. Through early intervention, we support students at a critical time, leading to profound, positive changes in student life outcomes. We are scaling up our organization and services to effect system change with material and wide-ranging societal benefits.

Purpose of Position: LDS mission of supporting learners across BC requires removing barriers to accessing our supports. One of the ways we reduce barriers is by bringing our 1:1 instruction programs to learners in their communities. We do this via LDS Access, our fully electric mobile classroom (see our LDS Access webpage for more details), which goes out into lower mainland locations with our specialized Instructors on board to provide our learners with the learning support they need. The LDS Access Driver is responsible to ensuring the mobile classroom is moved safely between our East Vancouver Learning Centre and the neighbourhood we are serving students in, and supporting Instructors and students as needed (such as during pick up and drop off).

Please note this is an in person only position; candidates must be living in the Greater Vancouver area.

  • Sanitizing high touch surfaces on LDS Access after use
  • Outreach for LDS while on Access (answering questions about LDS Access or our programs)
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Class 5 (or above) valid BC driver’s license
  • Experience driving large vehicles
  • Experience driving in the Lower Mainland (BC)

This position can also be combined with part-time Instruction or administrative work for the right candidate to create a fulltime position.
