Civil Engineer

Job Overview:

A Civil Engineer specializing in WMM (Wet Mix Macadam) plant and road construction is responsible for planning, designing, and managing the construction of roads and related infrastructure projects. This role involves overseeing the entire construction process, from project conception to completion, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning:

Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to define project goals, scope, and budget.

Conduct site assessments and surveys to gather essential data for project planning.

Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocation.

Design and Engineering:

Prepare engineering designs, specifications, and drawings for road construction and WMM plant installations.

Ensure compliance with local regulations, codes, and industry standards.

Utilize engineering software and tools for design and analysis.

Material Management:

Oversee the procurement and quality control of construction materials, including aggregates, asphalt, and cement.

Develop material testing and quality assurance plans.

Monitor material inventory levels and reorder as necessary.

Construction Supervision:

Manage and coordinate construction activities, subcontractors, and labor crews.

Monitor progress and quality of work to ensure adherence to project specifications and timelines.

Implement safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.

Cost Management:

Monitor project expenditures and ensure they align with the budget.

Identify cost-saving opportunities and propose alternative construction methods if necessary.

Prepare and review project cost estimates.

Quality Assurance and Control:

Implement quality control processes to ensure the finished project meets design and performance standards.

Conduct inspections and testing of materials and workmanship.

Address and resolve any quality issues promptly.

Environmental Compliance:

Adhere to environmental regulations and implement eco-friendly construction practices.

Develop and implement erosion and sediment control plans.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain detailed project records, including daily reports, progress photos, and change orders.

Prepare regular progress reports for project stakeholders.

Handle project documentation, permits, and approvals.

Client and Stakeholder Communication:

Maintain regular communication with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities.

Address client concerns and provide updates on project status.

Participate in project meetings and presentations.

Problem Solving:

Identify and address construction-related challenges and issues as they arise.

Propose and implement effective solutions to keep the project on track.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. A Master’s degree may be preferred for senior positions.

Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or equivalent certification is often required.

Proven experience in road construction and WMM plant operations.

Proficiency in engineering software and computer-aided design (CAD) tools.

Strong project management and organizational skills.

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and safety standards.

Familiarity with environmental and sustainability practices in construction.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: ₹10,000.00 – ₹25,000.00 per month
