MEP Project Engineer

Position Overview

The MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Project Engineer is responsible for managing and coordinating the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing aspects of construction projects. This role involves creating the design, overseeing installation process and maintenance of MEP systems to ensure they meet project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop MEP project plans, schedules, and budgets, and ensure adherence to these throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project progress and identify potential risks or delays, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Review and approve MEP design drawings, specifications, and calculations to ensure compliance with Myanmar National Building Codes, Regulations, and project requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including technical SOPs submission, shop drawings, and as-built records.
  • Supervise MEP installation activities, ensuring that they are carried out according to approved designs and industry best practices.
  • Coordinate with contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure quality control.
  • Conduct inspections and quality checks to verify that MEP installations meet project specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor MEP project expenditures to ensure they align with approved budgets.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and propose value engineering solutions without compromising safety or quality.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with project stakeholders, including clients, team members, and senior management.
  • Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines to ensure coordinated project execution.
  • Oversee MEP systems commissioning processes to ensure proper functionality and performance.
  • Coordinate with testing and commissioning teams to conduct thorough system tests and inspections.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering field.
  • Professional engineering license or certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience as an MEP Project Engineer or similar role in construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of MEP systems, codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in relevant design and project management software.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
