Driver – Facilities Assistant

The Facilities Department is seeking applications from enthusiastic, dedicated and self-motivated individuals to fill the position of Driver cum Facilities Assistant. The role is responsible for providing transportation services and coordinating various facilities-related tasks within the University. They play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of personnel and materials, as well as supporting facility maintenance and operations.

Requirements & Responsibilities

Transportation services:

  • Safely operate company vehicles to transport personnel, clients, and guests to designated locations.
  • Adhere to traffic rules and regulations, ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and proper maintenance of company vehicles.
  • Plan routes and schedules to optimize time efficiency.

Facilities coordination:

  • Assist Facilities supervisor for any facility-related activities assigned.
  • Inspect and maintain record of student transportation and make sure they comply with UOWD policy.

Office support:

  • Assist with general office tasks, such as photocopying, filing, and organizing documents as instructed by Facilities supervisor
  • Provide support for meetings and events, including setup, teardown, and arrangement of furniture or equipment.

Safety and security:

  • Follow established safety protocols and guidelines, reporting any incidents or hazards promptly.
  • Assist in implementing security measures to protect company assets and personnel.

Qualifications & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent (additional relevant certifications or training is a plus).
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Proven experience as a driver, preferably in a corporate or professional environment.
  • Familiarity with local traffic rules and regulations.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and care.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills for record-keeping and communication purposes.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual tasks as required.
  • Flexibility to work outside regular business hours when necessary.
